Marketing Automation Engineer

BrightWave, North America’s leading email agency, is on the hunt for a Marketing Automation Engineer to join the Technology Team in a high-visibility, high-stakes, high-impact role. This position works at the leading edge of email marketing technology and plays a key role in the success of all BrightWave clients. This individual will work with the Technology team to create and implement solutions and analysis and will develop a competitive edge for our clients using the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget), as well other enterprise marketing cloud solutions.

Typical work-related activities include:

  • Close collaboration within the Strategic Services & Solutions Teams to provide internal and external guidance around how best to configure and leverage multiple enterprise SaaS marketing cloud solutions (emphasis on ExactTarget) to operationalize complex, data-driven marketing programs
  • Work closely with account teams in auditing, shaping and guiding email programs for both enterprise B2C and B2B clients
  • Perform in-depth capability and configuration discovery around marketing technology solutions
  • Assist with audits of technology solutions (as it relates to data and feature configurations) and make recommendations for optimization
  • Help guide platform migrations and implementations between platforms
  • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) platform and other Enterprise level ESP platforms to generate campaign audiences and support campaign reporting functions
  • Develop and streamline reporting based upon data and email program requirements
  • Serve as one of BrightWave’s technical SMEs and assist with training for internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to recommendations for executive level audiences relating to ESP technology

Job Requirements

  • Uncanny ability to learn how to use new technology
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with technical, non-technical and executive audiences
  • 3+ years experience with an enterprise ESP/Marketing automation platform (IBMMC, SFMC, Eloqua, Responsys, Marketo)
  • 3+ Years HTML Experience
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming languages and concepts
  • Understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (MS Access, Oracle, SQL-Server)
  • Ability to write, edit and troubleshoot custom SQL queries
  • Hands-on experience working with API calls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros, VBA), PowerPoint, relational data architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency

Helpful but Not Required

  • Understanding of basic Email Marketing Concepts
  • Ability to develop Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables and Macros
